Greenlighting

Cinimeo was a start-up proof-of-concept that drove backing for the greenlighting films through tiers of audience submissions and data analysis for studios and investors. This democratization of data would help artists and filmmakers better tailor their projects for studios or independent release and distribution.

Filmmakers testing their skills and seeking audiences would upload Cinis—short films, trailers and clips in any working state—which we would promote as our branded artifacts through social engagement. Design direction involved brainstorming, alignment, strategies for establishing tiers of participation and gamification, and developing personas for projected audiences. Taking advantage of the familiar, we used online ratings and social proof to gather b2b analytics for more personable and consumable engagement.

For the prototype, we created a brand and design system that appeared fun, energetic, light, and fresh simulating bright lights of video projection and a feeling of youth and urgency for burgeoning film entrepreneurs.
